Bernese Mountain Dogs
Welcome to
High Alps Kennels - owned and operated by David and Angela Radel of
Kingsley,
Michigan (near Traverse City, Michigan).
We
obtained our first Bernese Mountain Dog in 1988. Jodi became an
American and Canadian Champion. She was a top producer and winner of
Best Opposite Sex at the 1993 National Show in Kansas.
We started
breeding in 1991 with champions and obedience titled dogs along the way.
All of our
breeding dogs are clear of hip and elbow dysplasia. They are also
checked for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA Night Blindness).
All
puppies are whelped in the house (regardless of season), and are well
socialized with people, cats, and a few farm animals
(goats, sheep, and two miniature horses).
Prior to
going to their new homes at eight (8) weeks of age, they are fed top
quality puppy growth food. The pups are given physical examinations
by a State of Michigan certified and licensed veterinarian, are given their first set of shots, and are
de-wormed.
